Shadow Shot Sunday.

For  Shadow shot Sunday hosted by HeyHarriet.
I have a photo of this beautiful old windmill .As you can see in the top it was built in 1740. It is one of the 19 mills situated in Kinderdijk, the place that is on the world heritage list. The second photo shows some more of the windmills. We were there on a very sunny day last summer as you can see.

If you would like to learn more about Kinderdijk I have the link here for you.

Windmills fascinate me! Very calming watching the sails turn! And love the style of this one! It seems to have one long dress and a little hat! Cute and elegant with a touch of magical shadow too!

Madelief x

Oh, I love the windmills in Kinderdijk! I am so glad they are being preserved. Our windmills here have no character. We also watched a very funny incident between two swans in Kinderdijk - a bit of a disagreement going on between the two and quite a quarrel! :-)

Have a wonderful weekend, Riet!

I think that many Americans still see The Netherlands and windmills as the perfect complement. Given their age, we are amazed that the power of the wind was harnessed way back then. These mills are lined along the canal, and the look of a far different era is a classic one...

look at all those windmills! they're beautiful. in these times I expect windmills to be those tall, unattractive white columns so it's refreshing to see the charm of these. happy SSS to you Riet.

Heel, heel mooi, Riet ! 2008 ! Ik heb er een stel fotos gemaakt. Wat een mooie, historische plaats !

Fijne week, Riet !
