Last week we for a couple of days went to the more eastern part of our country. On Monday the weather was sunny but rather cold. We went for walks in the country and that was really nice.
But on Tuesday we had to go to the city of Zutphen as I needed to go to a special shop. The weather had turned around, heavy storm and rain. We had planned to spend most of the day in Zutphen as it is the most beautiful old city you can imagine. That didn’t work. I almost got blown of my feet. But the shop was right in the middle of the old city so I could make a few pictures when I was there and it was dry about three minutes.So we went home.
I hope to go back there real soon.

This is the gate to a old poor peoples home founded in 1723. There is a lovely courtyard but it started to rain and I ran back to the car.
A winery in a beautiful very old house.
St Walburgischurch founded in 1050. See the houses around it are also very old, and the streets so narrow.
Didn’t get to visit the church. But will get back there some day soon.
That beautiful house was built in 1549. Next to it a little alleyway going to the drogenapstoren.

Vorig jaar hebben wij hier een stadswandeling gemaakt en ik zie dat we op dezelfde plekken hebben gestaan ;-). Je kunt er een post over terug vinden op mijn blog. Wat jammer dat het weer zo slecht was, Riet...je zou eigenlijk nog een keer terug moeten gaan op een mooie dag. Toen wij er waren, konden we op een terras van een lunch genieten. Het plaatsje is een bezoek absoluut waard.
De komende dagen lopen de temperaturen op...de lente komt er aan!

Wat jammer dat jullie zulk slecht
weer hebben getroffen terwijl
jullie een dagje naar Zutphen
gingen. Een PRACHTIGE stad zie ik
wel, ondanks het slechte weer heb

Prachtige foto's ondanks het slechte weer. De stadswandelingsbrochure ligt hier in de kast, maar het is er nog nooit van gekomen. Natuurlijk ken ik Zutphen wel, want we wonen er vlakbij, maar tijdens een route zie je toch alle plekjes. Jammer dat jullie zulk slecht weer hadden. Fijne paasmaandag, lieve groet,

The beauty of all those buildings, I love the colour in all those bricks, the pink, reddish warmth and the sheer age of the buildings and then the brickwork on the floor, so much to look at. Looks a great day out!

This is such a beautiful city Riet.
I've added it to my bucket list - fingers crossed I can make it there one day!
We are travelling to Europe this year but everything is already planned - hopefully next time.
The winery house is lovely and looks just like one of the Delft houses I was given when flying KLM!

These are beautiful images even with the gray, cold skies....we are finally get a bit of spring here with some warm days mixed in and the snow melting...this spring definitely calls for patience.

To live in such a beautiful country as yours must be a wonderful blessing dear Riet! This city is full of so many beautiful buildings and your photos are wonderful of them.
