London # 3

More beautiful London today and lots of color.
Of course there were the  busses, there must be thousands of them and the telephone booths in red.
Cab’s in every color, many in blue with brand names on them. Also yellow ones of course.
Notice in England driving on the left side of the road.
Because it was a very hot day there were lots of people having a good time in the parks. I can say in every park I saw. It looks so nice and friendly.

I don’t know what kind of bus this is, saw only one like that.
Jan from this blog  http://afanja.wordpress.com/author/afanja/ told me it might be an amphibiebus. Hope that is a good word.

I took this photo from the top of the double decker bus.

Die geel-blauwe bus waarvan jij niet weet wat het is, lijkt me een amfibivoertuig. Blijkbaar kan daar behalve een rondrit ook een rondvaart mee worden gemaakt.
Fijne zondag verder, blijf koel!

Lekker zo boven op de bus uitwaaien en ondertussen foto's maken. Het is nu wel weer meteen te warm vandaag. Zelfs een stukje fietsen lukte nauwelijks.

Definitely nothing boring about those buses. Have a great day.

Hi Riet,

You have magically captured the liveliness of London, the movement via those very famous double decker buses! Was lucky to have visited this amazing city once, and hope to do so again!

Wow! There were so many buses in London! I love the red color of the buses and phone booths. Phone booths have all disappeared here because everyone seems to have a cell phone.

gezellig druk was het er lieve riet,
fijn dat jij je weg er zo weet te vinden:-)

Wat zou het saai zijn zonder die rode bussen, die horen gewoon bij de stad.

Your London photos are wonderful. Are you still there? Maybe you will be there for the royal birth! We were in London when Prince William was born, many years ago!

Another enjoyable post from a land I will never see otherwise. I love the face on the bus.

Prachtig al dat sprankelende rood
van de dubbeldekkers lieve Rietje.
En de sfeer in het park met al
die mensen geeft een groot gevoel
van saamhorigheid.

Mensen zijn ook vaak een stuk
vriendelijker als de zon hoog aan
de hemel staat.

Heerlijk om steeds weer even
terug te zijn in Londen met
het plaatsen van al jou mooie
foto's.
Sta je er zelf ook nog een
keertje op, of hadden de meisjes
het te druk met andere zaken???

Plak ze,met deze warmte, hier ook
binnenshuis 30 graden, Pffffff

Veel liefs,
Josephine

I'd say it's an amphibious bus - we have them here in Victoria, for the tourists.
I love to look at buildings and at people in photographs. The world is becoming so small that the photo of the group on the grass could have been taken anywhere in Canada or the US.

Love your photos! Can't wait to get to London and see it all for myself. You have got me even more excited.

Yes my London sure looks good in the Summer- but it's too hot for me. If you're still here this Saturday do come and see me and my art at Spitalfields Market (see my post).

Sallie (FullTime-Life) said...

I absolutely adored the double-decker buses...we always tried to sit right in front on the top.

And we were so surprised by the beautiful parks. We had gone to see the usual tourist historical things...and just to experience being in a truly big city. But we ended up spending a lot of time walking around many of the wonderful parks. And yes, everybody was very friendly!
