Kopenhagen.

As you might know we went on  a cruise in July to the Baltic sea.Our first stop was the beautiful city  of Kopenhagen. We have been there before but visited other places this time. Let me show you.

Thse little houses were built around 1630 for navy personel. They were very wel kept and still houses navy and army personel. Of course updated but still...

This is called new harbour and I love these colorfull houses.

This little train is bringing visitors to the Little Mermaid, known from the Hans Christian Anderson tales.

And here she is,so lovely.

And this 8 km long bridge was new to me, it connects the city of Kopenhagen with the city of Malmo in Sweden. It was built in 2000.

MOOI lieve Rietje, de foto's van jullie vakantie
Kopenhagen lijkt me prachtig.

Lovely city with lots of history and beauty. My niece once visited and she was surprised by how tiny The Little Mermaid is. Nevertheless, she is charming.

Good morning Riet, Your trip was wonderful and so were your photos. I agree the statue of the girl on the rock was stunning. You are so blessed to be able to travel so much.

I have missed visiting you and I am happy to see your post today. Life has been quite challenging lately and I have not been on my computer very much. All is well now thank goodness.

This Weds. we leave for France for a month. I won't be able to comment much. I will try to use my hubby's computer if it works. We'll see.

Have a great October and enjoy the Fall weather.

Fondly,
Jeanne

What a beautiful tour you've been on. I like the colourful homes and the famous mermaid statue. It was interesting to see the wind turbines across the water next to the bridge. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Hello Riet, this reminds me of my stay in Sweden which made us use the Copenhagen airport. In one of the weekends we were in Lund we also visited Copenhagen and saw those rows of wonderfully painted houses. We didn't know there is a train taking tourists to the Little Mermaid, instead we walk following the feet of Hans Christian Andersen. It was a long way but we enjoyed it very much.

Hello Riet, The colorful houses along the water make such a lovely sight. One day I hope to visit Kopenhagen. The story of the Little Mermaid was one I enjoyed in my childhood. Have a good week.

It always amazes me to see building this old. In our country, a building that's 100 years old is considered old!
I hope you'll come link up at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/09/shake-those-tail-feathers.html

This is wonderful Riet. The statue of course I love .... Brought back memories of childhood (and parent-hood) read- aloud times ...a favorite fairy tale book! And the little houses ... It would be amazing to live in something that old ... Even if they have been updated you would feel a part of history! And they are so colorful as is the harbor ( our favorite kind of place to visit)!

Riet, we will be staying in Olonzac. We have rented a house there with my sister and her hubby. It is lovely and we are so excited to be able to go. My sister knows the owners as she has been there before. We can't wait.

Thank you for your sweet comment and your interest in our trip. Have you ever been to Olonzac? I know it will be beautiful. We rented a car and intend to travel to Avignon and to the Mediterranean on day trips.

xo,
Jeanne
