Skywatch Friday.

This evening while having dinner with our grandchildren we saw these different skies in about 45 minutes times.
First the rainbow , one very clear and there is a very soft one next to it. A bit later, sunset with dark clouds and the last one our 12 year old granddaughter made when it was dark.

Outdoor Wednesday.

Amsterdam part 2.

Today I am showing you more photo's of Amsterdam, today not the canals round the centre where later  the rich lived but more of the old centre where Amsterdam was founded round the 13th century. It started its existance as a little fishing village and draws  its name from the river Amstel. There are not many houses left of that time  because houses were built of wood  and easily got burnt until it was forbidden to do so.

Lovely facades on those narrow houses. Little boats in every canal in Amsterdam.

Did I mention bycicles?

café near the market

for sale.

All for sale on the Nieuwmarkt.

On the back  is the St Nicolaaschurch.St Nicolaas is the patron of the men at sea and many churches are called after him.

It was a beautiful sunny day so everywhere the terraces in front iof the café's and restaurants were full with relaxing people  drinking a beer or a glass of wine.

'Look at the facades.

Aren't the facades of these houses beautiful?

It was a busy day in Amsterdam. There was a marathon going on so many visitors.

Our world Tuesday.

Yesterday we visited the city of Amsterdam with very good friends. They both have lived here in their youth and come here to shop at least once a month .I am sure everybody knows of Amsterdam. I will show you what I saw.
So we walked a lot, rested a lot and made lots of photo's. We only visited the old centre of the city because that was all we could do on  one  day. There is so much to see in  beautiful Amsterdam. I am going to show you a few  of the  photo's I made now and will show more in  the coming days. These are all made round the world famous canals with their beautiful houses.

You will notice that it is a very busy city and that there are thousands of bikes around as everybody in Holland owns one so also in Amsterdam with its many students. I will show more bikes next time.

This is the famous Westerkerk (Westerchurch) in Amsterdam.

Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday is hosted by Beverly of "How sweet the sound" Thank you Beverly.

I had to look good to find some pink pictures for today. But I found some and made a collage. All flowersin Spain  and that one very old street in that very old town in Spain where I saw that pink house. Look how narrow those old streets often are , a truck can hardly go through it  and when you walk in the street and the truck comes around you better get your back to the walls or your feet are not safe. :)))

PLease click once or twice on photo to enlarge.

See how narrow these old streets are, when the truck goes through the street there is hardly room for walkers.

Watery and outdoor Wednesday.

PLease click on photo's to enlarge.

This week I am linking my photo's to both memes Watery and outdoor Wednesday.

Yesterday we visited this beautiful nature park here in the neighbourhood. We were here in  spring when there were lots of young storks on their nests. All those nests were empty now but we found another part of the park where we saw all this. So beautiful. I love flamingo's and here were so many next to the storks and the several sorts of ducks  Need I say more.

Mosaic and blue Monday.

Please click on photo to enlarge.

.Mosaic Monday is hosted by Mary of "The little red house". http://dearlittleredhouse.blogspot.com/

Today I am going to take you to the medieval city of Pals. This little city is built on a hill so we are going up a lot of steps. I only have one "step-photo"today but more will follow.
All the buildings and houses are still like they were built in the olden days. They are all on monuments lists.

"
This blue bike stood on a balcony and that lovely color blue was all over the bike, the saddle, the wheels, the lot.Someone must have loved that color blue.
