I can see fishing is a popular thing to do in the Netherlands as it is in Canada!

Wonderful photos of a mighty river! That span of water looks as big as an ocean...how wonderful it is to spend time on its banks...

Riet, don't you just love capturing the water in a photograph? That boat is huge!

I just love reminders of the Netherlands like this. It is such a beautiful place with such wonderful people. I'll get back more often.

I recently took some photos of a lady who is dying of Cancer. Her parents are from the Netherlands and she is so proud of her heritage. Her house is full of wonderful reminders. If you happen to drop by the blog and see the post called Tragedy? and look close you may be able to see that the man's tie is covered with wooden shoes. There is a huge basket of wooden shoes by the front door and I could go on and on. I love to visit them.

Another great post, the ship and the fisherman, you have certainly caught the different size there!! I love sitting by water, so peaceful and you have captured that as always in your photographs. Jackie.

Great shots dear Riet.

Hi Riet
Great photo of the fisherman. He looks like he's asleep. I like that you have included some branches in the corner... A nice contrast between the foreground where it's peaceful, and the background of a big commercial-looking ship.

Looks like a nice spot to be... if it's not to cold :)

Weer mooie foto's Riet. Jij woont in een waterrijk gebied. Is het de IJssel?

The fisherman seem to be napping while he waits for a fish to bite. Nice shots of the large ship and the river.

I found your blog through Scott Law's blog. I've been browsing through your photos and love them!!! I'm always interested in viewing other people's photoblogs for inspiration, especially other womens. And it's even more rare if they are 'mature' women! (I'm on the other side of 60!) I think we are very under represented. Don't know if there are fewer older woman photographers, or if we are less computer literate or what. Anyway, I'll keep stopping by!

Watery Wednesday and My World Tuesday make me long to go to the beach! I can't stay away too long anyway, it just brings me peace, much like the fisherman.
