Lithuania.

Our second stop was Klaipeda in Lithuania. Klaipeda is the third largest city in the country and has the northernmost port on the Baltic Sea.

If you want to know more about this very interesting city please try google.

We went for a walk and come and see what happened.

The bridge had to be opened for a sailboat. It seemed that at certain times of the day it was open for at least 15 minutes. So we walked on and I made a couple of photo’s.

You had to be careful not to fall over the cross beam.

Yes lovely weather for a walk. For those who didn’t go on an excursion it was a great pastime.

I miss not being able to travel anymore. We went to a lot of different countries back when, but no more. I enjoy taking the trips with you through]your lens.

This is a very interesting city with some very old buildings. The hotel is quite unique. I'm surprised the brick wall is held up by just those beams! I enjoyed your photos. Have a good weekend.

Josephine

That statue of the almost drowned person is so different!!!!I like the way they used the beam to hold up the building--hope it lasts. Such a lovely spot.

The weather vane design is so intricate a beautiful. But the one that really intrigues me is the sculpture of the drowned person. I wonder why it has been placed there. Fascinating buildings.

What a charming city! The Old Mill Hotel is so stylish, massive and rustic looking - I'd take a room facing the harbor...the figurine climbing out of the water is wonderful art. Nice city and a fun trip I imagine!

Beautiful city Riet ... your cruise took you to such amazing places -- definitely not the cities that I think of ...(but for someone who has traveled as much as you have, it must be lovely to get to go to some off-the-beaten-track places where normal tourist don't go.)

PS: i think the Bridges meme has been discontinued.
