During our stay in England we also visited student city Cambridge. Very old and very beautiful.
My first collage is of students punting on the river Cam. Punts are littleflat boats and are mostly handled by students .When you walk around through the town there they will try to sell you a ride. They will show you the sights of Cambridge by boat. It should be a lot of fun. On these photo's you can see a group of Japanese studends who were singing and laughing. We didn’t have the time to go on one so we definitely need to go again. (I wish). On the left on one or two photo’s is St John’s college, I believe it to be the most famous of several colleges in Cambridge.
Cambridge has several colleges but St John’s has its own very famous chapel. I would more like to call it a huge church and it is beautiful. I made lots of photo’s in here but today I am just showing a few among other photo’s of Cambridge. Look at the glass stained windows which are all around. And the ceiling is a work of art, so very special. It looks like it is woven. I will show more photo’s of the chapel and Cambridge in the future. Especially the inside of the chapel is beautiful..

This is just a little bit of Cambridge.

It would be such a treat to go punting on this river wouldn't it Riet? Look at all the beautiful buildings along it. Cambridge is certainly full of lovey architecture everywhere you look. Such beautiful photos Riet. I love seeing life through your camera. It is always a wonderful experience.
I loved the post about the blogger get together you attended at Madelief's. Those photos were amazing too! Thank you for sharing that beautiful garden setting.
hugs from here...
Lieve groet, Ingrid

Gorgeous shots ... what a loveley place! Love the architecture and the canals.
Greetings Irene
Liefs Josephine
What great memories your photos bring back to me. My husband and I traveled there and enjoyed visiting many places in your photos. Love the collage. Thanks for the memories.......

Riet, thanks for the tour of Cambridge. How funny that we both blogged about places called Cambridge. Love the pictures of the church, very beautiful. Thank you for stopping by.
Hi Riet,
Your photos of England are just wonderful!! How nice that you got to visit there. My husband and I were there for a week in 1999; I thoroughly enjoyed it. We didn't get to visit Cambridge, however. A week is not nearly enough time to see everything, but I was fortunate just to go.
All of your pictures are really lovely -- in your posts and on your sidebar. It looks like you live in such a beautiful country; I've never been to the Netherlands.
Thanks for visiting my post and for taking time to leave a comment. Have a great week!
Hugs,
Denise

Serenity for watery wednesday.
Oh how fun, Riet! Your photos are beautiful!...Christine
Beautiful photos! I've never been to Cambridge nor have I ever been punting! How fun would that be? I do love Oxford though so I'm sure I would love Cambridge as much as you do!

Our Christchurch is like an English town. There was puning in the river, the earthquake stopped that.
Lovely collage Riet.....nice work.
greetings, Joop
Beautiful photos of a beautiful place. I'd like to see them larger, though. I love looking at details. xo Jenny
Lieve Riet,

FIJNE DAG
Lieve groetjes, Anita
Indeed Cambridge is a beautiful place, I personally prefer it to Oxford!! Although I have visited Cambridge a few times I have never been on a punt, sometimes it just seems to busy. Also I would worry about the low bridges and the pole that is used!!Looking forward to more photographs of your visit.
Love Jackie in Surrey, UK.
fijne dag
Yolanda
Cambridge is a delightful place to visit and you have captured it beautifully. It's been a long time since I was there, and it's great seeing it again through your lens!
Your photos highlight a glorious part of the world! Those punts appear to carry quite a few people! But most fascinating are the details of all those building facades!
This place is beautiful. Love to visit this place someday.
