Our world Tuesday.

Yesterday we visited the city of Amsterdam with very good friends. They both have lived here in their youth and come here to shop at least once a month .I am sure everybody knows of Amsterdam. I will show you what I saw.
So we walked a lot, rested a lot and made lots of photo's. We only visited the old centre of the city because that was all we could do on  one  day. There is so much to see in  beautiful Amsterdam. I am going to show you a few  of the  photo's I made now and will show more in  the coming days. These are all made round the world famous canals with their beautiful houses.

You will notice that it is a very busy city and that there are thousands of bikes around as everybody in Holland owns one so also in Amsterdam with its many students. I will show more bikes next time.

This is the famous Westerkerk (Westerchurch) in Amsterdam.

Perfect!

Een gezellige nieuwe week!

Lieve groetjes van Madelief x

Very interesting pictures! Imagine all the gasoline that is saved by so many riding bikes! Love the canals and the narrow looking buildings we might call townhouses. Have a great day!

Hello and greetings from Finland!
You said, you have been married 50 years, we only 47½ years :)

Most of those places in your photos are familiar from our visit there.
And tomorrow our daughter is flying to Amsterdam for some meeting.
She is just now packing and thinking how is the weather in Amsterdam in this week, what kind of clothes could be best and so on. . .

How absolutely lovely to have this waterway in the middle of the streets! Reminds me a little of Venice. The passion for bike riding must keep people in Amsterdam very fit and healthy.

Liefs Josephine

What lovely shots of Amsterdam! I love the way the leaves seem to be blowing off the trees in your shots.

Hi Riet - Thank you for taking us on a lovely walk around the old part of Amsterdam - it is lovely to see so many bikes and I'm sure the people must be a lot fitter and slimmer for all that cycling.
The canals are beautiful!
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your lovely photos.

that's exactly what I see when I visit my son who lives in Amsterdam since 6 or 7 years ! I don't go always into the city center but I know Amsterdam quiet well. Probably I will go there more often, now that they have bought a house and more space for visitors !

Thanks for the trip down memory lane......I visited Amsterdam over 20 years ago with my dear friend Ann who has, sadly, since passed away.
We must have walked the same streets, your photographs look so much like the ones I took on our trip.

Hello Rief,
Amsterdam is just beautiful and graceful! So many bikes. Do they commute by bike? It is great to be eco-friendly. Thank you for all of your wonderful photos and interesting story!
Best wishes,
keiko
