Mosaic Monday & Blue Monday

Last week I have been posting about the beautiful old city of Delft. These two mosaics are the last pictures I am going to show . Those people who love blue I am sure they all know Delft Blue.

For mosaic Monday , hosted as always by gracious host Mary from the little Red House,I have some pictures left that I didn't show earlier.( at least most of them) It just shows a little of what beautiful Delft has to show. If you are interested in more photo's just scroll down a bit.

For more mosaics go here.Mary has a list of all the participants of this lovely weekly event.
Please click photo's to enlarge.

For Blue Monday hosted by Sally from HTTP://WWW.Smilingsally.blogspot.com I also have photo's from Delft but all with a little blue in it. Probably every blue lover knows our Delft Blue ceramique. WEll, it is made here in this little old city. And here it is all handpainted. I might go to the factory again one day to make pictures but that will come some other time. When you look at the mosaic you see this glass blue statue. That shows a heart, and it says this is the heart of Delft, city of blue. Delft is blue. As you can see on my mosaic there are many little souvenir shops, in fact that whole big square is full of it. There is so much to buy , all most souvenirs of things that Holland is known of, like our wooden shoes, tulips and of course Delft blue.

For more lots of blue go to Sally's blog, there is a list of all the participants of this weekly event.
Have a lovely Monday

Beautiful mosaics, both have so many interesting photos. I have always liked the Delft Blue, I would love to have a few pieces just because of the color.

Oh Riet..
Be still my heart. I love these mosiacs.

The delft one I adore. I have always dreamed of owning just one little piece of delft. Someday perhaps? The blue is so beautiful. I am afraid I would have to live in that city where I could shop all the time. My house would definitely be filled with blue.

I love the old clock tower in your first mosiac, and the boat with the rowers on board.

You take such beautiful photos. They are real, live, no staged and that is what makes all the difference in the world. Thanks for sharing sweetie, and for stopping by to say hi. I so love to visit. Country hugs...Sherry

Riet, I love blue delft! My grandmother had several trivets that are delft which I inherited and cherish. And I love that vase in your photograph! Oh, I think that needs to go home with YOU! :-)

I also love that giant blue heart. What a wonderful sight.

Sending you much love for a Happy Blue (Delft) Monday!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hoi Riet,

Fijne avond!

Lieve groet,

Madelief

I lived in Elmpt in Germany when I was at RAF bruggen, just accross the border and have to admit to seeing more of Germany than Holland. Both countries are on mine and John list of places to re-visit once Samuel has left home!!! LOL

I love the mosaics of this most charming city of Delft. I imagine there is so much to see behind all those shop doors. There is so much charm even in the streets of this beautiful place. Thank you for showing us around with your lovely pictures.

I just love to see these old buildings. I think about all the generations of people who lived there and shopped there.

Hello Riet, your mosaic is lovely and I have not given up on learning how to do that. What beautiful old buildings and the rowers look so serene.

The Delft has always been a favorite of mine. I have only had one piece and I gave it to my niece who admired it. I really do not have much blue in my decorating. I do love blue though.

Thank you for your visits and sweet comments. I always am so pleased to hear from you.

Hugs, Jeanne
