Silvercity Schoonhoven.

A few days ago we visited a lovely little city not far from us called Schoonhoven.
Schoonhoven is renowned for its silver, hence it is nicknamed “Zilverstad” (Silvercity), home of the Dutch Silver museum and the International silver school
We didn’t have enough time
that day so we will be going back soon and visit the silver and clock museum.
Here just a collection of what we saw during our short walk.

The 17th century ferry gate  . The wooden doors are closed when it is high tide.
On my next photo there is a memorial
of the 1953 waterflood storm.. It shows how high the water came here in Schoonhoven. during the biggest nature disaster of all time her in Holland.

Douce France.

Week before last we were going to France for a long weekend. But when we were there my husband got ill and we went home again. So no photographs of lovely little  villages I planned to make but just some of the beautiful Bed and Breakfast” Moulin de la Pommeraye” we stayed in and some I made from the car through Belgium and northern France.
The B&B is an old watermill, situated in the village Pommeraye in the Haute Marne ,southern part of the Champagne region. Forests and green hills all around. The river the Marne runs through the garden and the grounds. It is so beautiful there.
