Lithuania.

Our second stop was Klaipeda in Lithuania. Klaipeda is the third largest city in the country and has the northernmost port on the Baltic Sea.

If you want to know more about this very interesting city please try google.

We went for a walk and come and see what happened.

The bridge had to be opened for a sailboat. It seemed that at certain times of the day it was open for at least 15 minutes. So we walked on and I made a couple of photo’s.

Friday.

Poland was the first country we visited. And on a lovely sunny day .

Gdynia is a small town at the Baltic sea .We took the shuttlebus and the driver drove us to the harbor where there was not much for us to do. There were a few old warships which were visited by lots of schoolkids, whole classes I imagined. We walked a bit , looked around and then we went back to the ship. I am sure there was lots more to do but this just  was not our day .

2-DSC01942

The first thing we saw when we got out of the bus : Starbucks., also in Poland.

Mmmm nice coffee.

4-DSC01932

And keep the place clean folks. Can’t read any of it but I am sure I got it right: )))

6-DSC01926

Lots of fountains but they were not working at this time.

7-DSC01912

In these countries we saw many murals.

Fences in front of the windows too.

3-DSC01922

The old man was struggling with his bike so he walked . There were lots of benches around so he rested a  lot.

1-DSC01930

And you know what , there even was a KFC.

One of the small warships.

Back in town and Alphabe Thursday.

As you might maybe know we went on a cruise . And you know what, I don’t know where to start. There is so much to tell and I made so many photo’s.

So I will show photo’s , not from day one on but I think I will pick some that go with the meme of that particular day. I show the map here of the places we visited. Actually we didn’t go with all the excursions as that would have been too expensive. So we did take a hop on off bus now and then or a shuttle bus to the nearest city. In St Petersburg, Russia, we had to take an excursion bus as otherwise we were not allowed to get of the ship. I will tell more in later posts.

So today I will join Jenny Matlock on Alphabe Thursday. The letter E is on this week.

We did embark in Kiel, Germany.

This was our ship, about 300 meters long.

In the middle of the ship there were these see-through elevators.

The theme for this ship is Music. Everywhere in the ship you find things that have to do with that. I will show you now and then.

2-DSC01910

This was a painting that hang in one of the many many elevators.

And now I am going to see what our footballers can do in the world cup this evening.

Blogpause.

Today I am going to show a few more photo’s before we are going on vacation.

Next Sunday we are going to make a cruise to the Baltic Sea and St Petersburg. It was on my wish-list for a very long time and now it is finally going to happen. I hope to make lots of photo’s so I have plenty to show when we are back in two weeks time.

These photo´s I made in the last few weeks while walking in  our neighborhood. It was on different days as you can see on the skies.

London.

Last week I was in London again with my granddaughters for a couple of days. The weather wasn’t very good , we had rain, lots of it,  so the only thing we did was shop . We did the sightseeing tour last year so nothing was really lost.:))) And for teenage girls there is nothing better than shopping as far as I know.:))

I didn’t make many photo’s because of the rain but I did make  a few of the beautiful buildings, the many many busses and the crowds.

Kings Day..

Last Saturday we celebrated our Kings birthday. In former years we always had a queen so we had Queens day as long as I can remember. It always is a day full of celebrations and fun. In our town we have a freemarket what used to be for children to sell the stuff they didn’t want any more or outgrew. These days many people try to sell their goods.

We also always have a fair very near our home . I love to walk around and look at all the people. So much fun to enjoy.

Here a small impression of the day.

Probably more people feel like that one time or another.
But I have been doing lots of other things.
The other day we went for  a drive in the country and made these photo’s . I think perfect for Easter and spring.
