Alphabe Thursday.

This week we study the letter O for Ms Matlocks class. Since we have been in Oslo (Norway) on our trip I’d like to show some photo’s from the beautiful Oslo fjord.
To explain:  a fjord is a long, narrow deep inlet from the sea between steep slopes of a mountaines coast, common in Norway. As you can see many people live here. I can fully understand as it is beautiful .

For Ms Matlocks class we had to study the letter N this week.

Since we were on a cruise visiting countries in Europe I chose  the word Normandy as we visited that beautiful part of France and that lovely little old city called Honfleur.  In this collage I just made a very small impression of photo’s of a very little  piece of Normandy. The tall bridge is called the Normandy bridge that is crossing the famous river Seine. The harbour photo I made in Honfleur.

We were so lucky to have the most beautiful weather during our cruise .

I will show more photo’s of this visit in later blogs.

 

 

Like in almost every city in most countries in Europe , when it is a beautiful day, many people have their coffee , lunch , dinner or drinks  on the pavements in front of the café’s and restaurants as you can see on this photo.

Doesn’t it look nice? You sit and watch the people passing by. Great fun.

Last weekend we visited friends who live in the country. I made photo’s of these  old farmhouses . I like the form of these houses. The roofs are built like a pyramid. I can’t find the proper English word for it. There are many of these farmhouses in the north west of our country.

A few weeks ago we visited friends in another part of the country. While walking around we saw this shop window with all these colorful figurines.  The shop was closed and looked really expensive. There was no name or pricetag to find so I can´t tell anything about them . Just that I liked them.
As I said I was in front of the shop window so my photo's are not the best in the world but I wanted to show them anyhow.

Istanbul.

 

Today we study the letter I for Ms Matlock’s class. I would like to give you an Impression of the city of Istanbul.

I made  many photo’s but I  took a few to make a collage.

 

As I said a very little impression.

If you want to see more of this beautiful city please google Istanbul, it is worth it. There is so much to tell and I am not good at that.

 

Istanbul at the Bosphorus.

 

Ayasofya, the most beautiful mosque with its four minarets.

 

Tourists in the Grand Bazaar an enormous , very famous shopping centre.

Down here there was this shop that sold so many spices and other goodies, I couldn’t get away from it. It was super. And that wonderful smell…….

 

 

 

And finally there is the Blue Mosque with its six minarets. It is the largest mosque of many many mosques in Istanbul.  We couldn’t visit it at the time as it was prayer time.

 

Now this is just a very little Impression of what I saw that day. I definitely want to go back some day because it is a beautiful city but hope to have more time then.
