About three months ago we visited the city of Maastricht and some little villages around it in the south of the Netherlands , the province of Limburg. The weather was lovely so good to look around and make photo’s.
In probably every little village in the south is a huge Roman Catholic church and you know, I love churches.
a lovely park next to the church.
This is the castle where the world famous violinist André Rieu lives with his family. It is situated on the mountain “St Pietersberg”
I suppose you have heard of him. He travels all over the world with his orchestra.
These sculptures are so lovely. Saw them in another village. Sorry I don’t remember their names.
Many houses in Holland have these plant pots on the windowsills. In April it was violets now it often is geraniums.

Thanks so much for a great little holiday in the Netherlands.....
Lovely setting and your photos are wonderful.
I too enjoy visiting old churches, cathedrals . . .
A fantastic selection of photographs including fences but I really love the sculptures.
Hello Riet, the church is beautiful! The castle, park and sculptures are beautiful. Lovely post. Happy Thursday!
Prachtige serie, Limburg herbergt zowel landschappelijk als stedelijk veel moois.
These are so lovely to see - especially as I'm planning a trip to Holland that includes Maastricht, in September!
Fascinating images. I love all the details.
Liefs, Ingrid
Great series of photos, like the park and the church.
Such enchanting scenes. Especially love the action sculptures with the bikes. Such fun figures.
Thank you for the tour around Andre's home town Riet. (I'm a fan of his talent and that of his orchestra). Lovely images! Yes, I too am drawn to churches and cathedrals - such wonderful architecture.
I love listening to Andre Rieu's orchestra. Here in Canada, we can go to a local movie theatre and see his concert from Maastricht.
I saw a notice where it will be shown in August.
Thanks for the beautiful photo's.

This looks just like the sort of region I would really enjoy visiting. :)
I visited Maastricht many years ago, but as I see there are many places what I missed...Amazing photos...
Heerlijk lieve Rietje, mooie
beeldhouwerken.
Heel fijn weekend.....
Veel liefs,
Josephine
So beautiful. Thanks for this lovely tour.

I enjoyed the photos of the church, I love them too. I’m also a big fan of André Rieu and what a treat to see where he lives. Thanks for the beautiful tour.
