St Petersburg, Russia # 2

Today, in my second post, I want to show you a few of the beautiful churches or cathedrals we saw here.. I am using a few photo's from last years trip because they look better. As I told you in my first post we only saw a little of St Petersburg but here are some views.

St Isaac's Cathedral
built between 1818 and 1858

Top of St Isaac's cathedral.

Just a little piece of the front of Church on the spilled blood.

The Sts Peter and Paul fortress and Cathedral.

This was the only church we could visit. The interior is so stunningly beautiful I will show that in another post.

A few photo's of the St Nicolas cathedral, so beautiful and so blue.

I don't know which church this was. There is so much to see and too much to remember. Couldn't find it in my book of St Petersburg.

Lieve Rietje,

Liefs, Ingrid

Stunning -- absolutely beautiful. Your pictures are just great!

Amazing structural designs and wonderful photos you got there. I am awed whey they have lots of cathedrals when it is a communist country, just shows my ignorance about this country. lol

Delightful! My first visit to St.Petersburg is many years ago, it was still called Leningrad. A magical place I am keen on visiting again.
